The National Emblem of India shows three lions standing on a circular platform, representing strength, courage and confidence. Below the lions is the Ashoka Chakra. Our national symbols remind us of who we are and what makes us proud to be citizens of India.

📌 Do You Know? A long time ago, lions roamed freely across vast areas of India. Today, they are found only in the Gir forests of Gujarat. Their numbers had gone down to only a few dozen about 150 years ago. Today, India has several hundred lions in the wild!

👑 Diversity Everywhere

India's diversity is like a forest — many varieties make it stronger and more beautiful. From colourful headgear like the saafa/pagri in Rajasthan and topi in Himachal Pradesh, to different foods and traditions, India celebrates diversity everywhere!

📌 Do You Know? Headgear is also worn for protection from heat, cold, or injury. Helmets worn by soldiers, construction workers, and people working in mines protect them from injury. Road safety helmets for motorcyclists and cyclists help prevent serious head injuries. Helmets are compulsory on two-wheelers!
🌿 Diversity = Strength! A garden has fewer varieties of plants and needs constant care. A forest has many varieties and is self-sufficient. Just like a forest, diversity makes our country stronger and more self-sufficient!
